Central Park Aerie

For an apartment on Central Park West that required a full renovation and re-organization of its rooms, our clients requested informal spaces for relaxed family time with their two young children. Forgoing a formal dining room for a corner banquette in the kitchen was one way in which this apartment was modernized for today. While the apartment had previously been stripped of its classic pre-war architecture, Platt Dana architects brought it back while adding clean and modern details to usher the apartment into the twenty-first century. The interiors feel cheerful and comfortable, with a mix of antiques and vintage pieces from around the world. In the living room, a mid-century Danish sofa is paired with indestructible rattan tables, and in the daughter's room, a vintage Swedish geometric rug gives a young child's space a sophisticated feeling that will stand the test of time.
