Berkshires Farmhouse

Built in 1764 as a farmstead, this house had about 2,000 square feet of space originally. In 2006, the previous owners added a 1,000-square-foot wing which now houses a great room with a cozy reading nook and a small guest room on the second floor. While the project began without renovation plans, an unexpected flood from a burst pipe caused enough damage to warrant replacing the floors and renovating the kitchen and primary bathroom. To bring light and patina to the walls in the main living areas, we hired a local plaster specialist to concoct the perfect shade of pale peach. The furniture pieces throughout were acquired from all over, though there was a focus on Scandinavian pieces, both antique and vintage. The textiles and rugs were designed to feel laid back, collected, and perhaps, like they had always been there.
