Last week our rep from F. Schumacher & Co, the lovely Bonnie (!), came to our office to show us interior designer Miles Redd’s new collection. We’d been anticipating Redd’s first solo fabric collection for months (he was the creative director for Oscar de la Renta’s line for Lee Jofa for many years) so we were really excited to see what he came up given free reign. No surprise–it’s fabulous! Full of great color combinations, unique prints, and a serious dose of Reddian glamour! It’s a great mix of statement making prints and basic geometrics and stripes that we could see ourselves using again and again. The print below on the table skirt was something Redd pulled from the Schumacher archives and recolored using more modern color combinations. He really nailed the robin’s egg blue! Below, left, an art deco inspired, large scale geometric print as a curtain fabric and right, some of the small scale geometric prints on a chair and screen. Below left, Redd’s take on a Degournay-esque wallpaper. The cut velvet squiggly stripe is fabulous on the chairs! He made a great glazed linen stripe (below left) that we’ll definitely be using on occasional chairs in the future. And right, a gorgeous watercolor print fabric that looks beautiful on small chairs and even better as window panels. Don’t you love how cheerful, yet sophisticated this collection is? We can’t wait to start using it. In fact, Suzanne is already planning to use the Brighton Pavilion wallpaper in her dining room.
What do you think of this new collaboration?
From the perfect powder room wallpaper to an elegant bathroom tile, we can’t get enough of this classic motif.
